William Bailey Guess Jr. Obituary
William Bailey Guess, Jr. died on the morning of May 19th, 2012. Bill was born to Mildred and Bailey (William Bailey Sr.) on December 12, 1938. He grew up in Weinert, a small Texas town where he was baptized a Christian and that remained home in his heart forever. He graduated from Hardin Simmons University and joined the U.S. Air Force, where he met and married Lee Ann Dougherty of Baker City, Oregon. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his older sisters, Sue and Virginia Kay. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years and their three sons, Bill (William Bailey III) and wife Leslie, Randy, and Matt and wife Kellye, and five grandchildren Bailey, Henry, Ryan, David, and Madeline. He was a highly recognized contract negotiator at both Kelly and Randolph AFB, while also serving 25 years in the Air Force Reserves, reaching the rank of Lt Col. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital and the team from Vitas Hospice for their compassionate care. A memorial service will be held at the Grace Chapel at Castle Hills First Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. on June 1, 2012, followed by a graveside service at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, charities long supported by Bill.
