In the 1970's he took many children of fellow US military comrades who sacrificed in Vietnam as KIA or POW's to his lake house numerous times for relaxing and activity filled retreats. In the 1990's and 2000's he organized many golf tournaments to raise money for the River Rats. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: www.river-rats.org.
