Brian Donehew Obituary
Date of Earthly Birth: January 13, 1969
Date of Heavenly Birth: November 17, 2012

Brian's greatest passion was always the heavens. He was able to name every constellation, every planet, and every star when he was eight years old. Brian followed his passion until he was awarded his Ph.D. in Physics from Clemson University in the Spring of 2011. Brian shared his passion with many students of Astronomy and Physics at several universities and colleges. Brian was an excellent teacher and was awarded many teaching awards. He could take the most complicated of ideas and break them down so that all could understand. Brian's incredible intellect and his remarkable abilities as a teacher will be greatly missed.

Among his many accomplishments:
Madison High School Diploma, San Antonio, TX, 1987
BBA, Texas A&M University, 1991
BS Math, University of Texas at San Antonio, 1998
BA Physics, University of Texas at San Antonio, 1998
MS Physics, Southwest Texas State University, 2001
Ph.D. Physics, Clemson University, 2011
Professor of Physics and Astronomy, Tulsa University, 2011-2012
Professor of Physics and Astronomy, Ball State University, 2012

Brian was a big, cuddly, sweet, teddy-bear kind of guy. He was a joy to hug and his hugs were a joy. Always one with a kind word, he never spoke harshly or out of anger.

One can only imagine the ear-to-ear grin Brian must have as he observes his beloved heavens from Heaven. What a view he must have!

Brian's oldest sister, all four of his grandparents, and a few dogs and cats were already waiting for him in Heaven to greet him, to show him around, and to keep him company.

Brian will be dearly missed by those he left behind; namely his parents, Jerry and Edith; his step-mother, Clary; his sisters, Andrea and Julie; and his beloved nephews, Tony and Tyler Greer.

In fitting tribute, Brian's ashes will be transformed into diamonds so that he can continue to sparkle and shine just as the stars he so dearly loved.

A private home memorial is planned.

"I will give you beauty to replace your ashes." - Isaiah 61:3
