Our father Robert D. Jones, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by all six of his children on July 10, 2013. He was born and raised in Minneapolis, Kansas on November 7, 1931, to Adda Woodruff Jones and Oliver Julian Jones. He and our mother were blessed with 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Dad graduated from Minneapolis High School Class of 1950, University of Kansas Class of 1957, and received his master's degree from Rutgers University. He was happily married to our mother, his childhood sweetheart, for 58 years. Dad proudly served four years in the US Navy during the Korean War and was stationed on the USS Philippine Sea aircraft carrier. Dad started his banking career at the Northern Trust Corporation in Chicago and the American National Bank of Beaumont brought the Jones family to Texas in 1964. We moved to San Antonio in 1969 where Dad worked at the Alamo National Bank. He concluded his banking career as president of Central Park Bank. As an entrepreneur he acquired San Antonio Foam Fabricators in 1978 that is still in operation to this day. Dad's second career as a business broker led him to start Jones Business Sales which he continued until his retirement. Bob and Patsy enjoyed many years RV camping with their family and friends all throughout the US and Canada taking them all the way to the Arctic Circle. We all have very fond memories of the many fun times fishing, beach combing, and late night games of cards and Pegs and Jokers spent with them. He had a passion for gardening that he inherited from his mother, and spent many seasons hunting with his sons. Dad was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Jones. He is survived by his bride, Patricia Ann Jones, and his children, Lea Beth (John) Munoz, Mark (Page) Jones, Steven (Tina) Jones, Jeffrey (Shelly) Jones, Michael (Deborah) Jones, and Julie (Gerry) Grace. The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Methodist Hospital Stone Oak for their loving care and support of our father during his time of need. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude for the continued care of our mother at Morningside Manor. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
