Joan Lunde Rosensteel, 82, of Pismo Beach, was born in March 1932, in Morrisonville, Wis., and after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease left this earth to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, May 2, 2014. Joan graduated from East High School in Madison, Wis., in 1950, then attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and later worked at the university as a secretary. She married Bill in 1953 - they enjoyed over 60 wonderful years of married life. Joan was very active in local Republican politics and will long be remembered for registering voters for 12 years at the San Luis Obispo Farmer's Market. She was named "Volunteer of the Year" on two separate occasions - once by the California Republican Party, and in 2002, by the Republican Party of San Luis Obispo County. Joan is survived by her husband, William Rosensteel Jr.; children Scott Rosensteel of San Luis Obispo; daughters Rynner Mann (John) of Newport Beach, Calif., Gayle Rogers (Tom) of Santa Ana, Calif.; five grandchildren Anya and Roxanne Rosensteel and Anneliese, Shane and Kaylie Rogers. She is also survived by her sisters Millie Davis and Eleanor Ackley of Wisconsin and Lori Howard of Arizona; as well as by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Al of Wisconsin. A memorial celebration of life, officiated by her son-in-law, Pastor John Mann, will be held at a later date. Joan with her gentleness, kind ways, and captivating smile, will be greatly missed.
