Maurice Brown, 91, of La Mesa, Calif., joined his wife, Betty, and daughter, Sue, in Heaven Monday, Dec. 23, 2013. Maury was born on the family farm in Wilder, Idaho, and later joined the U.S. Navy in World War II. After the War, he attended the University of Washington, where he graduated as an Electronics Engineer. He then worked at the Naval Weapons Centers in Corona and China Lake, Calif., where he earned many awards for inventions before he retired to San Diego. Maury had many interests in which he excelled, having earned trophies in basketball, golf, bowling and jewelry making. Maury is survived by his daughter, Maurine Archer of Grover Beach; and sisters Martha and Dorothy; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. His ashes were scattered at sea off the coast of San Diego.
