Michelle Agnes "Mickey" Howard, 79, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at her home in Paso Robles. Michelle was born in June 1934 in Danbury, Ct., to Joseph and Marion Wixted, the only daughter of six children. She married Marvin Howard on April 30, 1960, in Las Vegas, Nev., and they had two children, Monica and Mark. She retired from the State of California, having worked at both the California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo and Atascadero State Hospital. Michelle was a member of RPEA, Women of the Moose and the VFW. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching old movies and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Michelle will be remembered for her witty sense of humor, sending funny cards to friends and family and was always up for a good joke. Her granddaughters will especially miss the Nerf gun wars with Grandma at our annual Christmas get-togethers. Michelle is survived by her daughter, Monica Butler (Mike); son, Mark Howard (Melinda); grandchildren Amanda Butler, Kaitlin Butler, Michaela Howard Madison Howard; great-granddaughter, Aiva McKenzie; brother, Jerry Wixted of Las Vegas; as well as other extended family members. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Atascadero District Cemetery, with a gathering to follow at the Rancho Paso Mobile Home Park Community Room, 2945 Theatre Dr. in Paso Robles.
