Robert Vernon Harris, 72, beloved husband, father and grandfather died of heart disease Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014.   Bob was born in Federalsburg, Md., and graduated from Caroline High School in Denton, Md. He entered the U.S. Navy, where he served from 1959 to 1963.  He married Floralee Alexander in 1961 and they had a daughter, Lisa. Bob and his family moved to Arroyo Grande in 1973. Bob had a long career as a barber that lasted nearly 50 years. He owned The Village Barber Shop in San Luis Obispo on Marsh St. for many, many years. He loved his job and all of his customers loved him dearly.  Bob was an avid fishermen and cribbage master. He loved to play pool, RV camping, and was a world-class joke teller.  Bob attended St. Patrick's Church with his wife of 52 years, Floralee, and was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and Italian Catholic Federation.   Robert is survived by his wife, Floralee Harris; daughter, Lisa Oakes and her husband, Michael; and grandchildren Kyle Robert Oakes and Mason Aaron Oakes.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Charles Harris; and six older siblings.  The rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel, 1239 Longbranch Ave in Grover Beach.  The memorial Mass will follow at noon at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 501 Fair Oaks Ave. in Arroyo Grande.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made for his grandchildren's education to the Robert V.
