Tildon Wayne Ketcherside returned to the Lord Wednesday, July 24, 2013. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1957 and was honorably discharged July 10, 1961, from the U.S.S. Lexington. Wayne raced at Bakersfield Speedway and was the flagman at Bakersfield Speedway and Mesa Marin Raceway. He was also deeply involved in team penning and won competitions all over California and Nevada. Wayne moved his family to Templeton in 1971, where he owned Wayne's Pump Service and Carter Pump and Machine in Wasco, Calif. He sold the business and retired to his ranch in 2007. Wayne was a member of the Kern County Sheriff's Mounted Search and Rescue and the Kern County Sheriffs Posse, having served as Lieutenant and Captain of both organizations. Wayne is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kay Ketcherside; three children Kim Ketcherside (Sonyia), Mike Ketcherside (Luann) and Sherri Ketcherside; five grandkids; four great-grandkids; and other extended family.
