Marjorie Ann Roussopoulos May 30, 1928 - March 9, 2013 Resident of Bonny Doon Marjorie Ann Roussopoulos, 84, died March 9, 2013 at her home in Bonny Doon. She was born in Rockford, Illinois on May 30, 1928, the youngest of eight children born to Della (Nesler) and Harvey West. Her early years were lived in La Crosse, Wisconsin and later on the "West Side" of St. Paul, Minnesota. She graduated from St. Paul's Humbolt High School a year ahead of her age group and attended the University of Minnesota. On June 23, 1945 she married Harold D. Roussopoulos (Hal), who preceded her in death. Marge and Hal were married more than 62 years and raised three sons. Marge left her job as community organizer with St. Paul's "Neighborhood House" when Hal retired from 3M in 1977, and they took up hobby farming near Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. There Marge worked part time at the H. H. Bennett Museum of Photography. In 1982 she happily became a resident of Bonny Doon, CA and a member of Bonny Doon Presbyterian Church. For 25 years she managed the office of her son Gary's Mountain Animal Hospital. She was active in community affairs throughout her life, and especially so during her years in Bonny Doon. Six of her siblings have preceded her in death: Helen Koepke, Calvin West, Jane Willis, Walter Miles West, Jack West, and Etta Mae Koepke. She is survived by a sister, Marion Wheeler; sons Peter, Gary, and Paul; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A patient, loving, and compassionate woman, she will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched. A memorial service for Marge will be conducted at Bonny Doon Presbyterian Church on Saturday, March 16, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bonny Doon Presbyterian Church (7065 Bonny Doon Road; Santa Cruz, CA 95060) or Hospice of Santa Cruz County (940 Disc Drive; Scotts Valley, CA 95066).
