Richard Austin "R.A." Hedrick Obituary
"R.A." Richard Austin Hedrick July 8, 1944-May 7, 2013 Resident of Santa Cruz, CA R.A. suddenly passed away at his home in Santa Cruz of a heart attack. He was raised in Indianapolis, IN where he attended Broad Ripple High School and continued his education at Indiana University, the University of Nevada (Reno) and the University of Utah. R.A. had a uniquely designed life style lived with commitment and always expressed through his actions. His innate curiosity and investigative nature were applied to nearly everything from mechanical to political. He was interested in how things work; an excellent and objectively focused observer of this life. He was a gentle person not inclined toward emotional reactions, but respecting them regardless of personal trials, resolved or unresolved he may have experienced in his life, he has always been a good brother and appreciated friend. His physical presence will be greatly missed but he will continue to remain a part of our lives and a positive influence. He left us a living legacy in our homes. R.A. is survived by his children, Rich Hedrick of Spokane, WA, Laura Hedrick of Indianapolis, IN, Jeremy Hillstrom of Anahola, HI and his siblings Phil Hedrick of Aravaipa Canyon, AZ, Austin Stowell of Santa Cruz, CA and Nancy Alger of Centerville, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Phil Hedrick of Indianapolis, IN. Please join family and friends of R.A. in a celebration of his life on July 20th from 11-1 in the community room at 890 - 38th Ave, Santa Cruz, CA
