Norma J. Murray - SAVANNAH - Sis. Norma Jean Mitchell Murray, 46 passed away October 12, 2013 at her home. She was a native of Savannah and educated in the public schools of Chatham County, a graduate of Alfred Eli Beach High School, Class of 1986. She received her License in Practical Nurse at Savannah Technical College. In 2010 she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work at Savannah State University. She was a member of the Church of Christ, worshipping at the 50th Street Congregation. She worked at the local hospitals, Chatham County Health Department, and Department of Family and Children Services. She was an advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness, a member of the Susan B. Komen Relay for Life, and the National Black Nurses Association. Surviving are: her husband, Gerald Murray; Son, Brian Casey Mitchell, Father, Horace Mulligan, mother, Janice Purvis, all of Savannah; brother Robert Purvis, Sisters: Sharon Singleton (Anthony), Sherry Grant (Damion), and Maria Capers, Aunt, Edna Brown, Special Cousins, Angela Williams, Michael Lucas, a host of other relatives, and friends.
