Mr. William Melvin Thomas, Sr. - SAVANNAH - Mr. William Melvin Thomas, Sr., entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He resided in Savannah, GA for over 30 years and was a resident of Atlanta, GA for many years. He was a member of Central Missionary Baptist Church (Thunderbolt) and Beulah Baptist Church (Atlanta, GA), where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a former Director of Mail Processing for the U.S. Postal Service in Savannah, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Mildred Thomas. Survivors are: one daughter, Theresa Mbaku (John); four sons, William Thomas, Jr. (Delner), Alan Thomas, Eric Thomas (Andrea Wawrzusin), Corey Thomas; two sisters, Ann Tuggle (William) and Ermie Rogers; two brothers, Johnny Thomas (Lillian) and Charles Thomas; brother-in-law, Randolph Scott; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation services will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at Central Baptist Church, 3119 Shell Rd., Thunderbolt, GA. The Homegoing services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Second Arnold Baptist Church 1427 E. 37th St., Savannah, GA, Rev. Richard Hall, Sr., Pastor, Rev.
