Charles W. Guditus, 89, of Allentown, died Wednesday at Fellowship Terrace, Whitehall.
Born in Gilberton, he was a son of the late Stanley and Anna Stefero Guditus.
He was the devoted husband of Stella Gumrot Guditus, to whom he was married 65 years.
Charles received his bachelor's degree from Penn State University, master's degree from Bucknell University, and Doctor of Education degree from Lehigh University.
He served as superintendent of schools for the Frackville Area School District from 1962-65. He became a professor at Lehigh University in 1965. He served as chairman of the Department of Administration and Supervision. He remained at Lehigh until his retirement in 1986 and was granted Professor Emeritus status. He was also an accomplished author in his field.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters.
Charles was a member of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Bethlehem.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Lahutsky.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Stella; children, Gregory and his wife, Patricia, Jean, wife of James Calpas, and Tamara, wife of the late Blaine House; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
