Jesse M. Lishman, 41, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon at Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia, surrounded by family and friends after fighting a long, courageous battle against cystic fibrosis.

Jesse was born in 1972 to Charles and Katherine Brehony Lishman.

He graduated from Pottsville Area High School and attended Penn State University and Lincoln Technical School. His last place of employment was with Pioneer Pole Buildings.

Jesse enjoyed amateur filmmaking and song-writing with family and friends, writing all their own material as well as trying his hand at stand-up comedy.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William J. Brehony.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his brother, Joseph Lishman, Pottsville; maternal grandmother, Catherine Eagan Brehony, Pottsville; aunt, Kelly Brehony Ostrowski, Mohrsville; uncle and aunt, William and Barbara Brehony, and their sons, William and Michael, all of Shillington; an extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, many good friends and his most beloved Dachshund, "Regis," who was his constant companion.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jesse's memory to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 693 Arlington Road, Second Floor, Bethesda, MD 20814.
