Joseph Winter, 63, of Pottsville, passed away Monday evening at Lehigh Valley Medical Center-Cedar Crest, Allentown.
Born in Pottsville, Nov. 11, 1949, he was a son of Irene Liptok Hart, Auburn, and the late Joseph H. Winter.
Joe was a 1967 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Pottsville, and received his bachelor's degree in 1986 from Penn State University.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Cathy Rainbow Winter, Pottsville, to whom he was married for 20 years on Nov. 28; son, Anthony Winter, Gettysburg; three daughters, Sophia Winter, Orwigsburg, and Angelica and Elizabeth Winter, both at home; two brothers, Kenneth Winter, Pottsville, and Nicholas Winter, Auburn; two sisters, Rose Ann Svrcek, Minersville, and Lisa Blankenhorn, Orwigsburg; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private. Private interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to The Elizabeth Winter Memorial Fund, c/o Nativity BVM, 1 Lawton Hill, Pottsville, PA 17901.
