Mary Agnes McCann, 83, of Edinboro, died Wednesday at St. Vincent Hospital, Erie.

Born July 10, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Mayme Yuschock.

She lived in Branchdale, until she met her husband, Frank, who whisked her away to exotic places around the world. Mary followed her husband throughout his 33-year career in the Army.

Her daughter, Mary Schatzie was born in Augsburg, Germany, and her son, James, was conceived in the Canal Zone, Panama. Mary always participated in the military community and local activities and later at formal functions as the Command Sergeant Major's wife. She enjoyed everything from being the president of the Clam Diggers women's social club in Panama to the Chaplain of the VFW women's auxiliary in Oberammergau, Germany.

Frank retired in 1977 and they settled in Edinboro and became members of Our Lady of the Lake parish. Until recently, she enjoyed her Friday jaunts to the Millcreek Mall and lunch with friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John; and sister, Elizabeth Dullard.

Mary is survived by her husband, Frank McCann; brother, Stephen Yuschock, Branchdale; daughter, Mary Chapman and her husband, Jack, Erie; son, James McCann, Erie; grandchildren, Annamarie, Jason and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Sicily, Michael, Siena and Ireland Rose; nieces and nephews; and most notably, "JJ," her 23-year-old cockatiel.

Mary placed a spot of happiness on everyone she touched. She will be sorely missed.
