Robert S. "Bob" Ogrodnick, 78, of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Sunday night at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

Born in Shenandoah, Feb. 23, 1936, he was a son of the late Stanley Ogrodnick and Constance Alex Ogrodnick Rusin.

Bob was a 1954 graduate of the former Shenandoah Catholic High School. He also attended Penn State University, Schuylkill campus.

Bob was an Army veteran during peacetime.

He was a self-employed appliance repairman.

Bob was a member of St. George Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah.

He enjoyed listening to classical music; moreover, Bob was a talented pianist and most especially enjoyed playing classical pieces.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were two brothers in infancy.

Surviving are a sister, Dianne T. Ogrodnick, RN, with whom he resided; cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday. There will be no calling hours Wednesday evening. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the church memorial fund of one's choice.
