Gerald F. Loskill, 81, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully Thursday at his home at Luther Ridge at Seiders Hill.

Born in Hazleton, March 24, 1933, he was a son of the late Jacob and Ellen Gallagher Loskill.

Gerald served in the Army as a sergeant in the Korean Conflict. After getting out of the military, he worked for the PP&L Co. for 40 years and retired in 1992 as a supervisor.

He was a member of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, Port Carbon. He was a past board member of PODi Credit Union.

Gerald will be missed by his loving family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Doris J. Pozzebon Loskill, Sept. 8, 2004; brother, Eugene Loskill; and sister, Eleanor Breshock.

Gerald is survived by a daughter, Geralyn F. Cole and her husband, Charles; three grandchildren, Brittany Kieffer and her husband, Josh, Kendall Reber and his wife, Jill, and Kyle Reber and his wife, Richelle; three great-great-grandchildren, Konner Reber, Zakary Kieffer and Adeleine Reber; brother, Larry Loskill; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, Port Carbon, with the Rev. David W. Karns as the celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment with military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the , 101 Frack St., Frackville, PA 17931-1734. Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon, is in charge of arrangements.
