Paul H. Hinderliter, 85, of Frackville, died peacefully Friday morning at his residence with his loving family at his side.

Born in Ringtown, he was a son of the late Roy C. and Helen Lindenmuth Hinderliter.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Frackville. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 737 F&AM, Frackville.

Paul was a graduate of Ringtown High School and McCann School of Business with a degree in bookkeeping. After graduating, he worked for local dealerships as a sales representative and later opened his own Wholesale Autopart business trading as "Paul the Peddler," a business he owned and operated until his retirement at the age of 71.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving as a radar man.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a great outdoorsman.

Paul is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Jean M. Hollenbach; three daughters, Dr. Karen and her husband, Dr. Jewell Barnett, Yorktown, Va., Kathy, wife of Frank Gownley, Pottsville, and Kay, wife of Charlie Lex, Ringtown; five grandchildren, Heather, Shawn, Robyn, Jason and Jill; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Donald and his wife, June Hinderliter, Allentown; two sisters, Gale Mays, Ringtown, and Gloria Falesky, Catawissa; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Paul will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church, Frackville, with the Rev. Oliver E. Brown, pastor, officiating. Friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. until time of service, with Masonic services at 2:30. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions in Paul's name to the Memorial Fund of Zion Lutheran Church, Oak and Nice streets, Frackville, PA 17931.
