Allen "Mern" Hegge

Mern was born May 18, 1925 to Edith and Haakon Hegge in Lake Stevens, WA.

He passed away Oct. 2, 2012. He is survived by his wife Betty of 61 years; daughters: Karen White (Doug), Robin MacRae (Keith); sons: Kevin and Keith Hegge; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson; brother: Dean Hegge (Donna), sister in law: Wilma MacLeod; nieces: Kim and Judy MacLeod; cousin: Doris Dalrymple.

Mern graduated from Lake Stevens High, Everett Jr. College, U of W, in Business 1950. He served in the US Navy on the USS Cape Esperance, 1943-1946.

He worked for Armour-Dial Co, and Safeway Inc. retiring in 1990. Mern loved his Norwegian heritage, and Betty's Scottish heritage. He was a Life Member of the S/N Normanna Lodge #3 and the Seattle Elks Lodge #92, and a member of the Seattle Scottish Highland Games Assoc. Mern loved life, his family, and his friends. A memorial service will be held at the Normanna Hall, on Friday Oct. 19th at 2:00. 2725 Oakes Ave. Everett, WA
