Ann Marie Kanyo

Ann Marie Kanyo passed away peacefully November 26, 2013 in Kirkland, Washington after a brief illness. She was born April 28, 1932 to Vance and Gladys Tjossem in Seattle. Most recently, she was a resident of Roseburg, Oregon.

Ann graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950, and attended the University of Washington where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. She married George Hansen in 1952 and together they had four children. In 1978, prior to moving to Arizona, Ann met and married Ted Kanyo. She enjoyed playing bridge, attending church and bible study, hiking, cooking and RV camping. She made many friends living in Seattle, California, Arizona, Florida and lastly Oregon, where she was a hospice volunteer. She was a very beautiful and gracious lady who appreciated her hospital caregivers and family support during her short illness.

Ann was truly loved and will be missed by her husband of 34 years, Ted Kanyo; her daughter Gayle Gallagher; son Scott and wife Sabrina Hansen; son Erik and wife Cheryl Hansen; son Peter and wife Tina Hansen; sister Jackie and husband Doug Thompson; nine grandchildren, Jon (Brooke), Sara (Jason), Heather (Brett), Hilary, Tjos, Eve, Daniel, Benjamin and Grace; three great-grandchildren, Scott, Max and Annabelle; and four nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ann's life will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Evergreen-Washelli Chapel, 11111 Aurora Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98133.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice in Roseburg, Oregon, or a .
