Betty Jean Ewart Obituary
Betty Jean Ewart

Betty Jean Ewart passed away peacefully on a sunny Sunday afternoon at her Bellevue home, March 23rd, four days short of her 90th birthday.

Born March 27, 1924 in Wenatchee to parents Charles Wesley and Ivy Goldie Bolin, Betty grew up in West Seattle. She graduated from West Seattle High School and later the University of Washington. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority where she formed many lifelong friendships. She met George Ewart in Seattle and went with him to Cambridge where they were married in Harvard Memorial Chapel in December, 1950. Upon George's graduation from the Harvard Business School, they returned to Washington, first to the tri-cities and eventually to Bellevue. Betty, George and family enjoyed the outdoors, boating, skiing and fishing throughout the northwest. Betty and George were active members of the Seattle Tennis Club and Overlake Golf Club, avid Husky fans, travelled extensively and enjoyed life with their family and many friends.

Betty is survived by her son Wesley; her daughter Barbara and husband, Charles Shull; grandsons Devin Shull and Dustin Short, his wife Kim and her two great grandsons Kai and Kollin; cousin Wanda Dray, Diane and Dennis Kenney; and sister-in-law Barbara Turrentine of San Rafael, Ca.

The family suggests remembrances

in Betty's name be be made to the University of Washington or Fred Hutchison Cancer Research.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
