Donald James Hatch of Edmonds WA, born April 7, 1936 in Stevens Point WI, to Loucile & Carl Hatch, passed away October 5, 2012 in a boating accident off Shilshole Bay.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Marilyn; sons Jeff (Stacy) and Mike (Lisamarie); grandchildren Aaron, Kaitlyn and Alex; Sister Beverly Topley of New Mexico and Brother Carl of Wisconsin; Sister-in-Law Ruth Goodrich & her husband Bob of Arizona.
Don was a graduate of the University of Washington with a BA in Mechanical Engineering. He worked at Boeing as a computer programmer; retiring after 35 years in 1995. Don continued his passion for computers after retirement. He was also an avid sports fan of hockey, baseball and volleyball and was always in attendance watching his sons & grandchildren at their various sporting events. He was a great fisherman, and was doing what he loved with his best friend John Johnson when he was taken from us. He was a man of character and honor, a loving husband, dad, and grandpa who will be remembered with love and respect by many.
The family is having a memorial service Sunday November 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Butterworth Arthur Wright at 520 West Raye Street, Seattle, WA 98119. A reception will follow at the Edmonds Senior Center 220 Railroad Ave Edmonds WA at 2:00 p.m.
