Donald John Castagna|
Donald J "Don" Castagna died peacefully on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.
Don was born in Roslyn, WA on November 22, 1928, one of two children born to Josephine and Frank Castagna. He graduated from the University of Washington with degrees in music and education.
Don was devoted to family and friends, a generous person with a loving heart who always gave of himself. He is survived by Mary, his loving wife of 52 years, his son, Richard, daughter, Louise, and granddaughter, Jorden.
Most people will remember Don as a music educator for the Seattle Public Schools where he completed his career as the Music Coordinator. He has influenced many people over the years with his gifts of music, including his own children, the Boy Scouts of Troop 392, countless students in the schools, and his private music students.
To keep Don's music alive, his family has created the Don Castagna Scholarship Fund and requests memorial contributions be made to the fund. To find out more details about the goals of the scholarship fund, please visit http://www.doncastagnamusicscholarship.org.
Rest peacefully, Don.
You were truly a gift in all of our
lives, and your music
will live on in our hearts forever.
