Donald Vincent Gagner Obituary
Donald Vincent Gagner

A much adored brother, uncle and friend, Don left this world on February 25, 2013. Don was the 6th of 7 children born to Mary and George Gagner. Except for the 2 years he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Don lived in Seattle all his life. He worked as a glazier for his family's aluminum window business for many years. A great horse racing enthusiast, he attended races at Longacres and visited all the prominent racetracks in Southern California while visiting with dear friends, the Kanowsky family. Don loved to travel and took many trips with his mother and sisters and their families to visit relatives across the U.S. and in Ireland. Always up for a party, Don especially enjoyed St. Patrick's Day, when he could wear his favorite Irish vest, shamrock tie and green hat. He also loved family poker nights and would grumble good-naturedly when the betting got too expensive for his taste. A devoted brother, when his sisters became ill in their later years Don visited them often in the hospital and assisted living facilities for a little brotherly teasing and conversation, shared over a box of See's chocolates. Don is survived by his sisters Maribeth Pederson and Sally McGlynn, and two generations of nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held Monday, March 11th at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 7045 120th Ave. NE., Kirkland. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery at 5041 35th Ave. N.E., Seattle. Reception following.
