Edward Y. Chinn|
Edward Y. Chinn passed away peacefully on April 30, 2013. Born in Seattle on June 17, 1922, he attended Garfield High School and the University of Washington. He served in the Navy 1941-1945. He was married to Gladys Chang Chinn for 65 years. He was a realtor, restaurant owner, and owned/managed a portfolio of real estate including apartments and commercial stores.
After providing college for his four children, Ed and Gladys traveled with their families to Mexico, Europe, China, Hawaii, Canada and across the United States.
Goong Goong had a passion for cars, avidly read auto magazines and collected replica models. He also collected many Asian artifacts. He loved dogs, having owned German Shepherds, Doberman, Shar Pei, and his beloved Beagle, Snoopy.
His family was first and foremost in his life. His generous actions always showed. His gentle, solid presence will be greatly missed. We were all very fortunate to be able to celebrate Ed's 90th birthday with his family and friends.
Besides his wife Gladys, Ed is survived by his children Janet Stokesbary (Bill), Merilee Chinn, Brian Chinn, Marcus Chinn (Shirley); grandchildren Kevin Stokesbary (Kelly), Nadia Torres-Chinn, Tyler Chinn; and great-grandchildren Payton and Parker Stokesbary. Special thanks to his main caregiver, Marie Mendoza.
A private graveside service is being held for the immediate family. Remembrances may be made to Kin On Health Care.
