Emily Francis Woodson Obituary
Emily Francis Woodson

Emily (Morgan) Woodson passed on July 8, 2014, ending her 100th year on the planet. Emily was born July 9, 1914 in Unionville, Missouri. She was the oldest of 3 children of Lex and Harriet Morgan. Her brother John and sister Liz preceded her in death. She is survived by her 3 children, Robert, Betsy and John, 3 grandchildren, Scott, Michelle, and Summer and 4 great grandchildren. Emily was a long time member of Emmanual Episcopal on Mercer Island and her religion was important to her. She received a Masters of Divinity degree from the University of Chicago in 1940. She also held a degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Social work from the University of Washington. Emily worked hard at helping others. An important thought of hers; Hang on to your ideals. Find something that makes you feel you have a reason for living. Per Emily's wishes she was cremated, her ashes are stored in a crematorium at Emmanual. There will be a memorial service at Emmanual on August 16, at 2:00 pm. There will be a celebration of life in September in Rockport, Washington. More info on this later. Emily's remains were taken care of by People's Memorial Association.
