Frederick L. Nollan Obituary
Frederick L. Nollan

Born October 16, 1929 in Long Beach, California to Ruth and Fred Nollan. Died November 2, 2013 in Seattle, Washington. Fred graduated from Lincoln High School and the University of Washington where he was a member of ATO and where he met Sally, the love of his life, and wife of 62 years. After college Fred went to work for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company where he spent his entire working life. But, what Fred was really devoted to was his family. Whether a family camping trip to his favorite beach at the ocean, skiing in the Cascades, or his attendance at countless of his children's and grandchildren's football, baseball, basketball, and soccer games, for Fred, family always came first. Fred was a passionate gardener. First, in his garden at his home on Queen Anne and then as a member of the Interbay P-Patch for 21 years, Fred spent many happy hours nurturing the soil and his beloved corn, tomatoes, and raspberries. In his 60's Fred took up cycling and, along with his wife Sally, cycled in Ireland, Austria, North Carolina, and Vermont. Fred was also an avid runner, participating in over 20 St. Patrick's Day Dashes up to the age of 77.

Fred is survived by his wife, Sally; his two daughters, Susan Schillios, and Katie Sechler, and three sons, Fred, Michael, and Kenneth, and his brother, Bob Nollan, as well as twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. However, because of his kind and generous spirit and obvious zest for life, Fred will also be remembered by the many others, both young and old, whose lives he touched and who are all better for it. We will miss him as long as we live. Family services pending. Memorial donations may be made to Greyhound Pets of America, 9503 127th Pl. S.E., Renton, WA 98056.
