Jesse Milton Grigsby died in the arms of his family on December 26th. He was born to Leah L. and Paul H. Grigsby on March 28, 1931 at Seattle Washington and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1949. He attended Linfield College and the University of Washington before serving in the United States Coast Guard aboard the USCGC Klamath on duties in the North Pacific. Like his father, Jess had a penchant for sales and, after his military service, joined Carnation Milk Company in 1956 where he worked for over 30 years in various sales capacities. Jess developed many lasting friendships with colleagues and customers throughout his working life. Jess was an avid boater and summer would find him and his beloved wife of 53 years, Norma, cruising the San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands in the company of friends aboard their motorboat Halo Wind. Winter would often find them traveling to distant ports by cruise ship. Jess was active in Bethel Lutheran Church for nearly 50 years where he ushered and served on its board. A true gentleman, Jess's easygoing manner, sense of humor and zest for life will be greatly missed by his adoring family. Surviving are his wife, Norma, daughter Jennifer (Todd) Smith and son Paul (Jolanta) Grigsby and grandchildren Alisa and Stephanie Smith and Nikolas Grigsby.
