Colonel John William Rosanbalm|
Col Rosanbalm died peacefully in Woodway WA, on Monday 21 January 2013; he was 84.
Born to Albert and Mabel (Zumalt) Rosanbalm on 9 September 1928 in Kansas City, MO, he entered the US Air Force in 1948, serving an illustrious career as a Command Pilot in the Strategic Air Command. He married the late Joan Woody of Pleasant Hill MO in 1953. He was a man of quick wit and easy humor, never shying from a mischievous remark or practical joke. A rousing family reunion game of King of the Jungle would invariably leave him in tears of laughter. His determination, strength of character, and loving kindness will be sorely missed.
John is survived by his sister Dorothy Tucker of Kansas City MO, and three children: Michael (Linda) of Arlington VA; Patricia (Dave) Sadick of Woodway, his selfless caretaker of the last couple of years; and Sandra Topole of Fleming Island FL. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren (sadly preceded in death by one grandchild).
Please send memorials to the
or a deserving military charity.
John and Joan Rosanbalm will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
