Born in Missoula Montana March 17, 1949 the first of six children to Earl and Betty Lou Burgett, Kathleen Anne brought to the world a remarkable passion for art, nature, people and freedom. Her first solo art show was Penryn Gallery in Seattle 1972, and a final retrospective of her work will be held at the Max Grover Gallery in December. As a Port Townsend High School art teacher, for over the last decade, Kathleen put forward extraordinary effort in organizing student art shows, fundraising auctions and field trips. She had an earnest desire to help individual students kindle their budding artistic creativity had a keen eye for potential. Family and friendship was one of Kathy's chief values. To countless people, young and old, Kathy was indeed a best friend. Always pointing to the beautiful and poetic aspects of the human experience, Kathleen truly inspired and will be dearly missed. Survived by her parents, three children, Elyse, Brielle and Ian, as well as two grandchildren Logan and Amelia, the family would like to extend gratitude to all that reached out with support and sympathy during her battle with appendiceal cancer.
