Leif passed away peacefully at his home on September 24th, 2013 at the age of 97.
He graduated from the University of Washington, School of Engineering, in 1941.
He then honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy for 22 years. Leif also worked as Edmonds City Engineer and Public Works Director for 15 years.
He was predeceased in 2009 by his wife of 67 years, Lavon. He is survived by: Two sons Leif (wife Stephanie), Kurt (wife Linda); two daughters Joyce and Linda. Also, by his four grandchildren; Krista, Kelsey, Kari, and Jon and three great grandchildren; Christopher, Alexander, and Riley Ann. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Olive Benson.
Leif had great integrity, an infectious smile, and a dry wit. Beside his family, one of his first loves was golf. He will be deeply missed.
Remembrances may be made to Foss Home, Seattle or the Salvation Army.
A private family service will be held.
