Mill Creek, WA - Marie Adelaide (nee: Thimineur) Stohner, 86, of Mill Creek, WA, formerly of Schenectady, passed away on November 9, 2012.
Born in Schenectady, NY on February 23, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Florence (nee: Tabor) Thimineur.
She was raised and educated in Schenectady, NY and a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. In 1970, Marie moved to Seattle, WA where she has lived to present day.
She is a former member of the Church of Saint Clare in Colonie, NY.
Marie was employed in the English as a Second Language Dept. at the University of Washington in Seattle for many years retiring in 1993.
She expressed herself artistically through her talents in crocheting, quilting, rock collecting and building miniature houses. She made sure to have bundles of yarn available to create gifts at a moments notice and enjoyed traveling and reading about local history.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Stohner of Kent, WA and Robert Stohner of Las Vegas, NV; her daughters, Carolyn Rauch of West Port, WA and Linda Coulter of Mill Creek, WA; her sister, Jeanne (George) Kengle of Junction City, OR; 7 grandchildren, Tom (Diane) LaForte, Cheryl Nelson, Michael LaForte, Wil-liam (Erica) Coulter, Kimberly Coulter, Chad Stohner and Nicole Coulter; 6 great-grandchildren, Amanda LaForte, Sabrina Nelson, Brandon Nelson, Maddox Coulter, Maguire Coulter and Paxton Coulter; her niece and nephew and several cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY.
