Norval (Tink) Phelps, 78, died Saturday at home. He was born October 9th, 1934 in Portland Oregon. His family moved to Seattle in 1947 and established the Phelps Tire Company.

Tink attended Queen Anne High School and the University of Washington where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He was an avid bird hunter and sport fisherman and a member of the Rainier Golf Club of Seattle and the Rancho La Quinta Golf Club of Palm Springs.

Tink is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty (Lind) Phelps, his children Sarah Resor, Elizabeth (Larry) Breckow, Kay (Charlie) Allfrey, and Jim Phelps and ten grandchildren and his brother, John (Brenda) Phelps and his niece, Mary Pauline Phelps. He often said his greatest happiness came from his children, grandchildren and his bulldog, Little Girl.

The family requests donations, in lieu of flowers, to the Union Gospel Mission or Northwest Harvest.

Memorial service: Sunday, January 20th, at 2:00, Magnolia United Church of Christ, 3555 West McGraw Street Seattle, Washington 98199. Reception following at the church.
