"Salty" Saltarelli

Born May 30, 1925 passed away peacefully on June 14, 2013 at Sunrise Assisted Living. Salty leaves his wife Velva of 51 years and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Born and raised in Seattle, son of Anthony and Christine Saltarelli he was a long time resident of Madison Park in Seattle. After graduating from Cleveland High School in 1943 Orlie met his wife Velva in 1958. They were married in 1962. Salty served in the US Army Air force and was awarded a Purple Heart. Upon return from military service he was employed as an engineer with King County and retired in 1995. Salty loved golf, hunting, fishing, bowling and gardening. Salty was an honorary life member of the Westside Civic Italian Club, member of Sons of Italy, Past President of Italian Club of Seattle and member Holy Rosary Parish of Edmonds. A special thanks goes to the outstanding staff and caregivers at Sunrise of Edmonds for their unending love and support. Remembrances may be made to the Father Evoy Scholarship fund at Kennedy High school. Funeral Mass 11 am, Saturday, June 22 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Edmonds. A reception will follow.
