Roberta Worley Carlyon Obituary
Roberta Worley Carlyon

Roberta (Robbie) was born to Ross and Gladys Worley on July 28th, 1925 in Seattle, Washington and passed away on April 20th, 2013. She was raised in Bothell, Washington and many of her close, lifelong friends were from her younger days in Bothell. She was a proud Husky, graduating from University of Washington and a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. At the sorority she expanded her circle of friends and developed many relationships that continued throughout her lifetime. Her work later in life took her back to the University of Washington where Robbie worked for the Dean of the Graduate School for 14 years as Lectures Coordinator.

A great joy in her life was helping people and her family. She was always there to support if someone needed help or inspiration. Known for her generosity, Robbie was always giving gifts to those around her. She volunteered at Children's Orthopedic Hospital, Providence Hospital and the Bothell Historical Museum for many years. With her Bothell roots, the museum was an important part of Robbie's life. She also loved sports, especially Husky football, Mariners baseball and any sport that her children and grandchildren played! Robbie enjoyed playing tennis and swimming for many years at the Seattle Tennis Club where she loved meeting friends and participating in family events.

The Northwest mountains and the San Juan Islands were very special to Robbie and she enjoyed their beauty. A fun family activity later in life was going to "The Mountain" for entertainment. Robbie was able to meet her great granddaughter Mira Belle just days before passing which was a joyous moment for her and the family. A special thanks to all her friends at Merrill Gardens at University Village, both staff and residents, for making her later years happy and fun.

Robbie is survived by her loving family including, her brother and sister-in-law Ross and Anne Worley, son and daughter in- law William and Emmy Carlyon, daughter and partner Caron Carlyon and Bill Robinson, granddaughter and husband Melanie and Tommy McCracken, granddaughter and husband Alyson and Terence Klein, great granddaughter Mira Belle McCracken and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 19th at 2pm at the Seattle Tennis Club, 922 McGilvra Blvd. East, Seattle, WA 98112.

Remembrances may be made to Children's Hospital in Seattle, 4800 Sandpoint Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105 (Room RC.3.820) and seattlechildrens.org.
