Rosemary Belarde, age 81, born March 7th 1932, in Glendive, Montana to Frank E. and Wilhelmina Frohlich; passed away on June 8th, 2013 at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland, WA.
She met the love of her life John J. Belarde in Washington, and they married on June 11th 1949; they were happily married for 64 years.
In 1954 as pioneers, the young couple moved to Anchorage Alaska to pursue opportunities in the Last Frontier. Their house was not only home to their 3 children, but to many extended family members who followed the couple's journey north.
During the couple's 34 years in Alaska they helped pave the way for future residents and business owners.
Rosemary was one of the first women in Alaska to receive a certificate of cosmetology; and owned and operated the upscale Northern Lights Beauty Salon for many years. She then helped her husband establish John Wayne Construction Company.
To further expand their construction business, the couple and their family moved back to Washington in 1988. They settled in the beautiful city of Woodinville and became long-term residents.
Rosemary lived life to its fullest; she was known for her fun loving, humorous personality and was often singing and dancing. Claiming she missed her calling as a Rockette. She was a talented seamstress and loved to design and create her classy wardrobe. As the life of the party and an accomplished cook, Rosemary enjoyed entertaining friends and family. Some of the most cherished memories are of elaborate celebrations held at the couples homestead in Big Lake, Alaska.
As matriarch of the family her love, guidance and grace influenced meaningful values and morals. She is greatly loved and respected and always will be.
Rosemary is survived by her husband John J. Belarde, her daughter LeeAnn Belarde, her son John F. Belarde and his wife Sandy Belarde, and her youngest son Steve W. Belarde and his wife Leighann Belarde. Along with her 7 grandchildren, Sierra Stamm, Johnna Belarde, Breanna Griffith, Jessica Rudiger, Jacob Belarde, Joseph Belarde and Kristina Belarde and 2 great-grandchildren Chance and Colton Rudiger.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank E. and Wilhelmina Frohlich, her brothers, George Frohlich and Frank Frohlich and her dear sister Josephine Norris.
Memorial Services will be held at 11am, Friday June 21st 2013 at Holy Rosary Church, 630 7th Ave North, Edmonds, Washington.
