Shirl Stanley BJORK|
Shirl Bjork passed away on June 13, 2013 at the Judson Park Health Care Center in Des Moines at the age of 93.
He was born on Dec. 19, 1919 in Princeton, MN to Reuben and Olive Bjork and later moved to Mt. Vernon, Washington where he graduated from high school in 1937. He spent time working on the family farm for several years before attending Washington State University. In 1942, he enlisted in the Army where he served in the Alaska Communications System in Juneau, Alaska before beginning a long career as a licensed public accountant in the Skagit Valley.
He married Catherine Bumford of Wilmore, PA in June of 1945 and later had two children, Larry of Normandy Park and Constance (deceased).
Shirl is survived by his wife Catherine at Judson Park Retirement Community, son Larry (Lorann) of Normandy Park, Son-in-law Harvey Shackleton (Mary) of Mount Vernon, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Shirl loved his Lord and his family and will be greatly missed by everyone.
A celebration of his life will be held at Judson Park on Wednesday, June 26 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Judson Park Scholarship Fund.
