Takeshi Tsuchida Obituary
Takeshi Tsuchida

Takeshi ("Tak") Tsuchida, 96, of Seattle WA passed away peacefully the morning of May 29, 2014. Tak was born January 23, 1918 in Auburn, WA to Tetsu and Kuhei Tsuchida. Tak worked on the family farm and graduated from Auburn High School in 1936 and soon after met his wife Florence who was working at her brother's grocery store in Auburn. In November of 1941 Tak joined the United States Army one month prior to the Second World War. In 1944, while stationed at Camp Barkley near Abilene, TX, Tak and Flo were married. Following his marriage, he was shipped overseas to France and Germany where he served in an artillery battalion until Germany's surrender. For many years he owned Tak's Body and Fender in Seattle. He was a lifelong member of Seattle's Nisei Vets, the Ohmi (Shiga-ken) club and Tengu club. He loved fishing, gardening, hunting for "matsutake" as well as bowling. But most of all he was a great husband, father and grandpa. Tak is survived by his wife, Florence, of 70 years, brothers Kiwamu and Ben, sister Yukimi, daughters Linda (Tetsuo Miyata), Shirlee (Ken Katayama) and 3 grandchildren Colleen, Todd, Jeffrey and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Vicki as well as brothers Frank, Satoshi and sisters Lola and Mae.

Private family services will be held at Seattle Buddhist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Seattle Buddhist Church (1427 S Main St Seattle WA 98144) or .
