Terry Jo Parker|
Terry Jo Parker, 88, passed away peacefully on Dec 19 after a long journey through Alzheimer's. Terry was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Sam and survived by: Susan and Tom; Pam; Nicholas and Sandra; Nancy and Dave.
Growing up in Los Angeles, Terry did all of the things one does in Southern California, including, but not limited to: excelling at polo in junior high school, working at Disney (Fantasia) and Warner Brothers (Woody Woodpecker) Studios as well as attending UCLA. After meeting and marrying her love, Sam, she moved to Seattle in 1946.
She loved to travel, garden, entertain, cook and do volunteer work (Overlake Hospital, Temple De Hirsch Sinai, among many others). She is famous for her Chocolate Zucchini Cake, blintzes, her amazing green thumb, and her love of animals. She was a long time member of Glendale Golf & Country Club and was an outstanding golfer. Her greatest joy was caring for her husband and children and being with her many friends, especially the 'birthday club' girls.
What a great family! What a ride I have had.
Don't be sad for me, only that we are parted for a time.
Stand tall and celebrate your life, along with mine, because,
to live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die.
