Virginia Westlake Fraas

Virginia Fraas of Issaquah, passed away September 9, 2013 in Bellevue, WA. She was 87 years old. Virginia was born on May 1, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri to Josias Arthur Westlake and Maude Elizabeth Reeg. Her family moved from Kansas City to Seattle when she was ten years old. Virginia graduated from the University of Washington in 1947 and married her husband Robert John Fraas on December 27, 1952 in Seattle, WA.

After many years of working with her husband at their pharmacy in Issaquah, she returned to her nursing profession and spent 22 happy years at Overlake Hospital. Virginia was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader and grandkid spoiler. She also enjoyed Sunday night game night and shopping. Virginia is remembered by her family as a generous and compassionate woman, who was strong yet tender hearted and gentle.

She is survived by her daughters: Joan Parish (husband Norm) of Bellevue, WA and Ann Jarvinen (husband Bill) of Issaquah, WA. She is also survived by her brothers George and Robert Westlake and their families. She will be missed by her grandchildren: John Bagley, Jessica Parish, Samantha Parish, Ashley Jarvinen and grandchildren by choice: Jackie and Cathy Robinson, Tyler and Sarah Mathison, Kristy and Patrick Bernert and her great grandchildren: Kenya, Masao, Zachary, Madison, Vanessa, Kaybryn, Bodyn and Gabriel.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Flintoft's Funeral Home and Chapel 540 East Sunset Way, Issaquah, WA 98027. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Robert at Lower Hillside Cemetery 305 W. Sunset Way, Issaquah, WA 98027.

Memorial donations in her honor preferred to: Trail Blazers, c/o Overlake Hospital Foundation and Auxiliary, 1035 116th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98004.
