William "Bill" Patrick McCabe|
Bill McCabe, a resident of Normandy Park, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly February 8th, 2013 at the age of 56.
Bill was born July 6th, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY and moved with his parents to Seattle in 1960, living in the Greater Puget Sound Region the rest of his life. Bill attended Mt. Rainier High School, graduating in 1974, and while there was a member of the 1972 State Champion Track Team. He attended the University of Washington studying Economics and was active in his fraternity, Delta Tau Delta.
Bill enjoyed a career in sales & marketing with AT&T, USWest and other technology companies. Bill was known as a raconteur, a serial entrepreneur, a business maven, a gourmet cook, a gun, golf and scuba enthusiast, preferring the warm blue waters of the South Pacific for diving, and Waikiki for everything else.
During his life, Bill volunteered countless hours helping many organizations raise money for community charities and student scholarships. He enjoyed the friends he made in the Marine Corps, US Coast Guard Auxiliary, Unlimited Hydroplane Racing Association (NHRA), American Legion, Friendly Order of Eagles, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, especially the members of Lodge #92, of which Bill was a Past Exalted Ruler.
Bill is dearly missed by his parents, Patrick & Leonor McCabe of Normandy Park, his sister, Robin (Jim) Gossett, brother David (Tammy) McCabe, baby brother Luke McCabe, nephews Reginald (Jasmine), Zachary and Quinlan and niece, Theodora.
There will be no public services. Remembrances may be made to Catholic Community Services of Western Washington (www.ccsww.org). The family will be spreading Bill's ashes beyond the reefs in those warm blue waters off of Waikiki. Semper Fi.
