Ying-Chen Jim Kuo|
Born October 21, 1953, Jim passed away on September 25, 2013 in Surprise, AZ. The youngest of 4 children, Jim came to the US in his early teens from Taiwan. He was a graduate of Redmond High School and Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington after serving 2 years with the US Army earning the National Defense Service Medal.
He was a retired engineer from the Department of Defense Puget Sound Naval Shipyard after 31 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and friend. He was active in the Pike Place Market community.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Justin and Kimberly; father, Shin-Ping; brothers, Sam and John; sister, Jean; nieces and nephews, and his foster family that he attributes for giving him the opportunity to achieve a better life in America including father, Mahlon; sister, Janis; and brothers, Dave, Steve and Randy.
A funeral will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery. Donations in Jim's honor can be made to The Seattle Times Fund for the Needy.
