Daisy M. Grasty

Daisy Grasty of Belgium, formerly of Maple Crest Apartments, Port Washington passed away in the evening hours of Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Belgium Gardens where she had been a resident since 2009. She was 92 years old.

Daisy was born in Zion, IL on August 5, 1922 daughter of James Cunnington and Agnes Marshall Cunnington. Daisy was a State Side WWII Veteran. On May 23, 1948 she married William P. Grasty Sr. in Zion, IL. (Deceased 1977).

Daisy worked from age 13 to 77 at various companies, including Zion Curtain Factory, Home Café, Warwick Manufacturing (Zion,IL) Abbott Laboratories (Waukegan, IL), IGA Food Store, KFC, Burger King (Daytona Beach, FL) Target (Snellville, GA). She enjoyed knitting, bowling and fishing.

She is survived by her son Phil (Michael May) Grasty of Palm Coast, FL, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and Elizabeth "Betty", Iza, Rose, James "Art", and John "Marshy".

In accordance to her wishes, private family services will be held.
