Dewey Klein, Arlington, Wash., died peacefully surrounded by his family, Monday, Dec. 17. Born on Sept. 4, 1947, in Sheboygan, Wis., to Rollin and Dorothy (Guetshow) Klein.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1973, where he worked as an Aviation Mechanic. In 1973, he moved to Everett, Wash., where he met his wife of 38 years, Alta (Lane). Dewey worked the the Boeing Co., for over 27 years. He took time off in 1981, to pursue this deam of being a long haul truck driver.
After his retirement from Boeing, Dewey spent his time working on cars with his sons, fishing with his buddies, playing with his grandkids, grilling brats for his family and solving the Times crossword puzzle nightly with his wife.
Dewey is survived by by his wife, Alta Klein; their sons, Nick Klein, Camano Island; Daniel and Karla Klein, Arlington; Jesse and Tanya Klein, Arlington; grandchildren, Tyler Wilson, Ryan Wilson, Trevor Klein, Brooklyn Klein; and his brother, Richard and Doris Klein, Sheboygan, Wis.; nieces and nephews, Dawn, Debbie and Mike Benirschke, Rick Klein; and great-nieces and nephews, Rudy, Cassie and Andrew.
Dewey was reunited in Heaven with this parents, Rollin and Dorothy (Guetschow) Klein. His mother, Dorothy, died Dec. 22, 2012, in Sheboygan, Wis. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Darwin Lee in 1939.
Dewey Klein was a kind and generous man. He enjoyed ensuring people were happy and will be missed by all who met him.
Services for all friends and family will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Weller's Funeral Home, 327 MacLeod Ave., Arlington, Wash. A Remembrance of Dewey's life will follow at The American Legion, 115 N Olympic Ave., Arlington, Wash.
