Elizabeth "Betty" Oldenburg

Elizabeth "Betty" Oldenburg, age 90, formerly of 1928 Washington Avenue, passed away on May 8, 2014. She was born in Random Lake, Wisconsin to the late Benjamin and Margaret (Haas) Williams. Betty attended local Catholic schools and graduated from Central High School in 1941. She was united in marriage to Harold Oldenburg at St. Clements Church in 1944. Betty was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She exceled in bowling for 65 years of her life and was in the Bowling Hall of Fame and the 600 club. She helped teach special needs students to bowl and in 2001 she and her bowling partner, Joanne Seymour, took first place in the county doubles. Betty was also an avid golfer for over 40 years and was either secretary or treasurer in every league she joined. She enjoyed many years of playing cribbage with her grandson, Bill.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Sue (Dean) Louden and Linda (Jim) Haut; grandson, Bill R. Hermann; granddaughters, Megan (Craig) Passler of Waterford and Margret (Steve) Koshere of Mukwonago; great-grandchildren, Addison Passler, Peyton Koshere and James Passler; Sue's daughters, Kelly Miller of Cascade, Naomi (Terry) Johns of Port Washington and Tanya (Paul) Powers of Cascade; brothers, Roy Williams and Charles "Spike" Williams; sisters-in-law, Doris Oldenburg, Delores Oldenburg and Amanda Williams; nieces, nephews and her devoted companion whom she loved, Zoey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; brothers, Robert, Benjamin Jr., Lester and James "Peewee" and sisters-in-law, Joan and Pat Williams.

Visitation will be held at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 South 12th Street Sheboygan, on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 11:30 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Sheboygan Humane Society are appreciated.
