Guillermo R. Flores, age 87, of Sheboygan, died on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Meadow View Manor Nursing Home in Sheboygan. He was born in Sonora, Texas on January 15, 1926 the son of the late Silvero and Concepcion Rodriguez Flores.
On December 30, 1949 he was united in marriage to Winona Eichstaedt in Raton, New Mexico. Guillermo was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving his country from 1949 to 1950. He then joined the U.S. Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in April of 1954. Guillermo was employed at the Vollrath Company from 1951 until his retirement in 1989. Guillermo had held various union positions at Vollrath.
He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Sheboygan since 1951 and served various times as a Deacon, Trustee, Usher, Sunday school teacher, Awana Leader and other volunteer positions. Guillermo was also involved with local Boy Scout Troops for many years. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Winona, of Sheboygan; two children, Ricardo (Barbara) Flores, of Imperial, MO, Linda Flores, of St. Louis, MO; four grandchildren, Abigail (Alan) Caruso, of Pevely, MO, Ricardo (Bailey) Flores, of Crystal City, MO, Esther (Chris) Marz of San Diego, CA, Celia Flores, of St. Louis, MO; two great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Caruso and Cora Flores; his brothers, Fermin (Mary) Flores, Daniel (Delia) Flores; his sisters, Berta Soldana, Connie Marin and Lupe Guajardo. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Guillermo was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Bonnie Flores, two brothers, Armando and Frank Flores and two sisters, Elva Castillo and Alicia Gonzales.
A funeral service for Guillermo will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 2411 Weeden Creek Rd., Sheboygan with Pastor Dan Babbel, officiating. Family and friends may call at the Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan on Friday evening July 5, from 4:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. and also at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00a.m. until the time of service at 11:00a.m. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park with V.F.W. Post 9156 providing full military honors.
