Herman F. Binversie, 89, formerly of the Town of Eaton, died Monday evening August 19, 2013 at Oak Creek Assisted Living in Kiel where he had been a resident the past 4 years.
He was born on May 26, 1924 in the Town of Meeme, son of the late Henry & Mary Elizabeth (Baer) Binversie. Hermie attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in School Hill from 1930 - 1938. He was also a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison Short Course, which he attended from 1949 - 1950.
On November 8, 1980 Hermie was united in marriage to Florence (Rabe) Lechler at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill. After his marriage to Florence, he felt like his life had begun. They shared 23 wonderful years together until Florence preceded him in death on December 8, 2003.
Hermie was involved in farming and was a dedicated employee of Laun Furniture for 22 years. He enjoyed playing cards, judging the cattle in Hoards Dairyman and attending the Kiel Senior Center. Most importantly, Hermie enjoyed spending time talking with family and friends. He was filled with knowledge and history that he loved to share with those he spoke to.
Survivors include his step-daughter; Kathleen Sixel of Newton, step grandchildren; Denise (Randy) Drill, Diane (Gary Kussow) Sixel, Thomas Sixel, Todd (Deborah) Sixel, Judy (Ray) Glander, James (Mary) Truttschel, Jill (John) Pelner, 12 step great grandchildren, 6 step great-great grandchildren. Herman is also survived by brothers; Robert Binversie and Stanley (Kaye) Binversie, sisters; Irene (Jim) Ziegelbauer, Virginia (Dean) Brennen and Janet Seichter, sister-in-law; Faye Binversie along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Mary Elizabeth (Baer) Binversie, his wife Florence, step daughter; Evangeline "Vannie" (Emmet) Truttschel, step son-in-law; Donald Sixel, sisters; Leona (George) Ziegelbauer, Delores (Lester) Klingeisen, brothers; Eugene and Roman Binversie, brother-in-law; Gordon Seichter, sister-in-law; Janet Binversie.
Funeral Mass for Herman will be held at 4:00pm on Friday August 23, 2013 at St. Gregory Catholic Church St. Nazianz with Rev. Patrick Nelson and Rev. Richard Klingeisen officiating. Burial will follow in the Eaton Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday from 1:00pm until the time of mass.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
Florences family would like to thank Hermie for the passionate care he gave to their mother and grandmother. They would also like to give heartfelt thanks to Judy Johnson and the entire staff at Oak Creek Assisted Living, Kiel for the care, comfort and joy they brought to Hermie.
