James J. Hoerz, 80, of Sun Prairie, formerly of Sheboygan passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 29, 2013 at his home.



Jim was born on March 20, 1933 in Sheboygan a son of the late Henry and Flora (Schrameyer) Hoerz. He attended Sheboygan schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School with the class of 1952. Jim served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He served with the 118th Army Band Unit and held the rank of Corporal at the time of his discharge in 1956. On September 21, 1957 he was united in marriage to Donna Seifert at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. Jim had been employed with Wisconsin Public Service and Brunettes Hardware, retiring in 1995. Jim enjoyed golfing, bow hunting for deer and playing dart ball.



Jim was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the VFW Post 9156 where he was active in the Military Honor Guard.



Jim is survived by his wife, Donna; two sons, Scott (Gayle) Hoerz of Sun Prairie, WI and Timothy (Jackie) Hoerz of Killeen, TX; four grandchildren, Zachary, Lucas, Grant and Ashley; a sister, Virginia Koehn of Ellington, FL and one brother David (Sherry) Hoerz of Cedarburg, WI. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard and wife Melba, brother, Henry and wife Charlotte and a brother-in-law, Richard Koehn.



Friends and family may gather at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 917 Mead Avenue, Sheboygan from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 5, 2013. Christian burial will follow at Sheboygan Lutheran Cemetery.
